100/counter site is a free service that generates traffic. Users sign up for a
free account that gives them HTML code to place on their website. With that HTML
code users get a counter for their site that displays a category of which they
registered their URL. The more traffic the user gets to their site, the higher
the ranking they get on the main sites top 100 index, in turn creating even more
traffic for their site.
Accurate
counting and anti-cheating to raise their ranking is helped by IP logging.
This site
also features paid advertising for the banner system on the site, and text ads
for your newsletter. Everyone who signs up for a free account is registered for
the newsletter and cannot be removed unless the delete their counter account.
This is so some sort of revenue generation can be obtained by the people using
the free service. The prices/ banners are determined in the sites admin panel.
